1. Purpose and scope

1.1  This policy applies to every Product marked “Research Use Only”, “RUO”, “for laboratory research only” or equivalent, and forms part of every contract for such a Product.

1.2  The policy applies equally to institutions, businesses and independent researchers. We do not require a purchaser to be a company or university merely to qualify as a researcher, but every purchaser must meet the conduct and safety requirements below.

 

2. Permitted purpose

2.1  RUO Products may be acquired and used only for lawful in vitro laboratory research, analytical testing, assay development, instrument calibration, chemical characterisation, reference-standard work or other non-clinical scientific work that does not involve administration to a human or animal.

2.2  A purchaser must have a legitimate research purpose and access to appropriate knowledge, facilities, equipment, controls, storage and disposal arrangements. Independent research does not mean personal experimentation.

 

3. Absolute prohibited uses

3.1  RUO Products must not be used, supplied, prepared or promoted for:

• human consumption or administration by injection, ingestion, inhalation, implantation, topical application or any other route;
• veterinary administration or experimentation on a living animal;
• diagnosis, treatment, cure, mitigation or prevention of any disease or condition;
• weight loss, bodybuilding, performance enhancement, anti-ageing, fertility, tanning, cosmetic or wellness purposes;
• compounding, formulation or manufacture of a medicine, medical device, food, supplement or cosmetic;
• household, agricultural, food-production or recreational use; or
• resale, transfer, advertising or instruction for any prohibited purpose.

3.2  No person may rely on this Website, packaging, customer communication or scientific material as a dosage, reconstitution, administration, efficacy or safety instruction for humans or animals.

 

4. Purchaser declaration

4.1  By ordering an RUO Product, you confirm that you are at least 18, are buying for a permitted purpose, will not administer or facilitate administration to a human or animal, and will comply with applicable law and this policy.

4.2  You also confirm that you will review available hazard and handling information, conduct an appropriate risk assessment and prevent access by children, vulnerable persons, animals and unauthorised individuals.

4.3  A false declaration does not convert a prohibited use into an authorised use and may result in order cancellation, account suspension and any action required by law.

 

5. No medical or veterinary advice

5.1  We do not provide medical, clinical or veterinary advice. We do not recommend a Product for a health condition and do not provide doses, cycles, injection guidance, reconstitution instructions for administration, or advice on managing side effects.

5.2  Questions indicating intended human or animal use will not be answered as technical support. We may instead restate this policy, refuse supply and direct the person to an appropriate healthcare, veterinary, poison-information or emergency service.

 

6. Scientific information and claims

6.1  Scientific references, mechanisms, historical uses and research summaries are presented only to identify areas of published investigation. They do not establish that our Product is authorised, safe, effective or suitable for a human or animal use.

6.2  We make no medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, disease, weight-management, performance or health claim for an RUO Product. User reviews or testimonials making such claims must not be submitted and may be removed.

 

7. Handling, storage and disposal

7.1  Only appropriately trained adults should handle RUO Products. Follow the label, batch documents and safety data sheet where provided; use suitable containment and personal protective equipment; avoid exposure; prevent cross-contamination; and maintain secure, monitored storage appropriate to the Product.

7.2  Dispose of the Product, contaminated materials and packaging in accordance with the applicable hazard classification and local waste rules. Do not dispose of chemicals through household drains or general waste unless the applicable safety information and local rules expressly permit it.

7.3  If exposure, ingestion or administration is suspected, seek urgent professional assistance and provide the Product label and safety information. In an emergency call the local emergency service; in the UK, call 999 for an emergency or NHS 111 for urgent medical guidance when appropriate.

 

8. Product documentation

8.1  A certificate of analysis reports only the identified batch and methods or characteristics stated. It does not certify clinical safety, sterility, absence of pyrogens or suitability for administration unless those exact matters are expressly and lawfully tested and stated.

9. Screening, refusal and records

9.1  We may apply proportionate order screening, quantity controls and fraud/sanctions checks. We may ask about intended use where reasonably necessary. Institutional credentials are not an automatic condition of sale, but refusal to resolve a material compliance concern may lead us to refuse an order.

9.2  We may retain records of acceptance, orders, compliance contacts and refusals in accordance with our Privacy Notice and legal retention duties.

 

10. Transfer and resale

10.1  You must not transfer an RUO Product to a person you know or reasonably suspect will use it contrary to this policy. Any lawful onward supply must preserve the original identity, batch, hazard, storage and RUO information and comply with all regulatory obligations applicable to the reseller.

 

11. Breach

11.1  A breach may result in refusal or cancellation of unaccepted orders, account suspension, preservation of relevant records, and reports or disclosures where required by law. These measures do not limit any statutory rights relating to Products already supplied.
